Thanks for the wonderful weekend of the 2006 opener The cabins
were great and the fishing was the best I have had up there in
years. Our group of 8 were taken care of very well and you guys
went out of you way to help us when we needed something thanks
for the wonderful time and all the memories of the opener. And
again there is not many places you can go to see the liberty bell
at 7:00 in the morning John you are a laugh a minute. We will
be back again very soon. To any one reading this I would highly
recommend Rocky Reef for your next stay at the Lake you will be
very happy there.
You are treated like family!!!
Thanks

Hi
John and Patti,
Scott Rice here (Friend of the Goehring's). Thanks again for your
great hospitality last weekend. I can't believe that I waited
36 years to make my first appearance at Rocky Reef. It certainly
will not be my last!
I hope to be back up this Sunday (probably by myself) and in the
event Dave Goehring does not make it up I am wondering if John
would be around to show me how he got the heater going last weekend?
Dave is still experiencing dizziness and other symptoms from his
fall so he appears doubtful for this weekend but he is still holding
out hope.
Please let me know. Thank You.
Take care and stay warm!
Scott

I want to thank you very much for taking the time to see that
we had a great time. Even though you were closed up for the changing
seasons. ABOVE AND BEYOND DUDE! We have a new ice fishing spot.
Jacob and I will be up to go out with you again during the summer.
We'll see you in December. Good luck to you and thanks again.
He hasn't put those pictures down since you gave them to him.
I see he is on your web site. Thanks for finding my keys. He thought
that was very funny.
May the fishing gods be with you.

Thanks for the great time today. It was good to meet some new faces.
Rockman, Thanks for letting us take up your entire day off.
And thanks for the "Eagle Eye" pointing out the eagle landing
on the shore with the walleye!
Story: CrappieMagnet, Smitty, Rockman, Yogi and I were crossing the road
to check out the docks shore and the lake in general, when Rockman noticed
an Eagle landing off to our right with a fish in claw. I ran for the
camera and got close for a photo but it spooked and flew off leaving
a 20+ inch walleye on shore; still partially alive! Hmmm good easy day
of fishing? lol! Actually the fish did not look healthy (white gills
on 1 side, eagle ate the other) so after a pic for fun, we left it for
its original capture, and it did come back later, ate and left little.
I guess it proves Eagle Claw catch's fish...
I just returned from a visit to Rocky Reef Resort on Mille Lacs.
My stay there was excellent!
Thanks
Cisco

I spent my full day on the water chasing SM Bass... it was great fun.
And. I lost what must have been a big Musky.
I love setting into a big fish... even, if I did not get to see it.
That evening, after a great meal at RRR, I was thrilled that the resort
owner "Rockman" took time off his resort restaurant work....
To take me Walleye trolling on Anderson's Reef.
We headed out in Rockman's boat. It is a great big Warrior equipped with
all the extras.
I was thrilled with his "night-bite" lighting system... auto
type fog lights that function as floods/spots placed on the big motor
and on the boat sides. He also installed a mast that was fitted with
a floodlight (also an automobile type) that would pivot to light up the
lines behind the boat or adjust to light up the boat floor. This boat
was maxi-set-up for night fishing. I was impressed!
We spent just enough time on the eyes to get me educated on night reef
fishing... and then it was back to the work for the rockman.... Back
to the restaurant to greet the "supper rush" crowd that are
a normal occurrence each Saturday night.
I sure enjoyed the guide lessons from you Rockman... you rock!
Thanks for taking time off work and showing me the tricks you use on
the reefs and your lighting system. I want my boat set up that way!

I wanted to let you know that cabin 4 worked out just fine. Just a little
mix-up-and the bathroom is nice. Thanks again for your home made pizza!
It was very
filling and tasty. John made a comment that he can’t make me happy
anymore know he was just pulling my chain. Just so you know and let John
know: I am always happy staying at Rocky Reef. We only stay at your
resort. That's because we love it and we are treated so well.
Thanks
again for another great stay at Rocky Reef.

Hi
Patti and John,
Thanks for all your help these past few days, looking forward to coming
up again, sure glad you talked us into moving to shallow water-it paid
off with the biggest walleye I've ever caught so far. Had a great time,
thanks again for all you help!
See you next trip.
Best

Greetings from tropical Iowa. We actually got above zero today.
Steve called me about the great fishing that you have been reporting.
He said there were some nice pictures posted, but one thing really
was evident. Looks like Marie is catching all the fish in that one house.
He said you might mention to Dar that he would take a little time this
spring and take her out in a "real" walleye boat so she can
catch a
fish and get her picture on your web site like Marie.
Glad to see you're catching fish. I'd like to get Steve up there to ice
fish
but he said the soft water was more to his liking. As usual, we're counting
down the days till we get back up there.
See ya soon, but not soon enough.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the great time this weekend, even
though it SUCKED BIG TIME not catching any fish! As you know I enjoy
just spending time up there (but that does not mean I don’t
want to catch fish) and relaxing. You two are always so great to
my friends and I. Once again just wanted to say thanks again for
doing a great job…. I hope to get up there one more time this
year yet!
Thanks
again!

Thanks for the great weekend I just wanted to let you know on Sat after
you
had been out to the house ~6:00pm I broke off a heavy fish on a big shiner
then left. See you next year, I've got to stop breaking my lines. Next
year you can bet I'll put new line on my rattle reels, or cut off the
last
several feet at least and re-tie.
Thanks
again,
Ryan S.

We just returned from Mille Lacs and rented one of Dickies Ice House
in
Isle. We were less than impressed and mostly disappointed. We haven't
given up on Ice Fishing on Mille Lacs, but want to research other
opportunities for next year. Dickies said they move the houses weekly,
however, I doubt that very much.
In looking at your web site and reading your weekly updated reports,
it
seems that you have a much better operation than what we experienced
last
weekend. Can you give me anymore information about your resort or your
practices that truly gives a once a year weekend trip a chance to catch
fish?
Thank
you in advance.

Hey Patti,
I forgot to return the Tupperware that you loaned to me. Would you
like for me to mail it to you? Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for
another super time of relaxing fishing. As always, we also enjoy
seeing and visiting with you two.
Thanks
again, Rex
